ABOUT THE IMAGE: This image of Bugs kissing Daisy Lou was adapted from the 1948 Friz Freleng-directed cartoon, “Hare Splitter,” where Bugs’ amorous desires are complicated by another rabbit, named Casbah. The character illustration was recreated by Juan Ortiz and the background was rendered by Hector Martinez.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Sometimes called serigraph cels, the serigraphy process involves silk-screening each individual color to the cel. Every distinct shade is a separate screen and passes, flawlessly reproducing each color.

ABOUT:
Tom Everhart is a celebrated American painter whose work uniquely bridges the worlds of fine art and popular culture through his exclusive use of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts characters. Initially trained at Yale School of Art and later mentored by Schulz himself, Everhart transitioned from traditional illustration and architectural rendering to a bold, expressive painting style after a life-altering battle with cancer in the late 1980s.
"The "Posing" series did grow out of the previous "Hide and Seek" series that focused on the questions of one's attempt to hide their intellectual honesty in order to seek out a newly designed image... a "Poser" tsunami of posturing between who was being real, and who was obviously pretending to be real, often with the intent to deceive, could no longer be ignored." - Tom Everhart
