Donald Duck
MEDIUM: Original Production Layout Drawing
IMAGE SIZE: 12" x 10"
YEAR: c. 1930s
SKU: CCV3875
ABOUT THE IMAGE: Presented here is a layout drawing showcasing a burnt Donald Duck holding a flower. This comedic image of the ill-tempered duck is done in graphite on a 12-field 5-peghole animation sheet, used in a transitional period at Disney between 1935 and 1950 when the studio transitioned from a 2-peghole to a 3-peghole animation paper system. The surplus 2-peghole paper was repurposed with the extra perforations, resulting in 5-peghole sheets.
Numbered Sc 17 in the bottom right corner, this layout drawing shows the charred duck surrounded by red-colored pencil key lines. The drawing presents normal age-related toning. Condition is Very Good.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original Production Drawings are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-drawn by a studio artist.
