Pinocchio
MEDIUM: Original Production Color Model Drawing
IMAGE SIZE: 12" x 10"
PRODUCTION: Pinocchio, 1940
SKU: CCV3574
ABOUT THE IMAGE: "Pinocchio, what's happened?" A tearful, frightened Pinocchio takes comfort that Jiminy has found him, trapped in a bird cage on Stromboli's wagon. This beautiful color model drawing was created as reference to show the cel would be inked and colored. The drawing can be spotted at 45:07 and is masterfully rendered in graphite with color pencil highlights on the puppet's hat, eyes, sleeves, and swing. The color model gives a great look at how the scene was made with ink and paint codes, an inking note, and even a note that the tear Pinocchio sheds will be created by the effects department. Also featured is a studio production stamp with Production 2003, Sequence 4.8, and Scene 12 with an official model drawing stamp. The page is marked A in the lower right and Pinocchio is full figure, measuring approximately 5.5'' x 8.25''.
