Comics universe. Premiering on television in September, 1996 SUPERMAN exists in a world of the future, a glittering, gleaming sci-fi Metropolis. But beneath the shiny surface of this seeming utopia is its sinister, controlling figurehead, Lex Luthor, whose domination is threatened by the sudden appearance of the morally just and apparently invincible Kryptonian, Superman.
