ABOUT THE IMAGE: Things are heating up between Mickey and Minnie in this beautiful hand-painted production cel from the 1968 episode of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color celebrating Mickey's 40th anniversary "The Mickey Mouse Anniversary Show". The episode was directed by Ward Kimball and animated by Les Clark, both Disney Legends and members of Disney's "Nine Old Men", and showcased Mickey's time on the big screen from his debut to his more recent animated shorts and explored the incredible cultural impact that he had made with viewers in the US and around the world. The cel is a testament to Mickey's popularity then and now and is in good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint paint separation.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original Production Cels are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-painted by studio artists on a piece of celluloid acetate, and has been photographed over a background painting to create a frame of the finished production.
